About

Saintinel.com is an online newspaper publication of Jefferson High School, created and run by the students to serve the students at Jefferson High School.  It is published as part of a collaborative learning project for students.

Purpose

The purpose of Saintinel.com is to inform, entertain and educate its readers – students, parents, and community – and give an opinion of students’ interest on local, state and national issues.

Saintinel.com will publish news from clubs, groups, sports, and academics.  It will publish announcements, events, feature articles, creative writing, controversial issues, photos, videos, podcasts, pertinent material in the public domain, and any other content that the staff deems necessary to publish.

Policies

The staff will take journalistic responsibility to investigate and report accurate and timely news.  The staff will report all sides of the issues with an unbiased and objective viewpoint.

In order to protect the identity of students, no names are printed in any photo caption.

The Saintinel.com staff refuses to print any article with material containing libel, obscenity, writings that promote self-destructive behavior or that which promotes the material disruption of the school process.

Online comments are encouraged, though they will be screened for the aforementioned reasons and guidelines.
