For those of you who stick to controllers with buttons, prepare to drop your jaws in astonishment. The Nintendo Wii is the first gaming system with remotes as the player’s controller. These ‘Wii Remotes’ also have tilt features that allow for interaction that was never thought possible. Players can tilt the remote to the left to tilt something on the game.

Along with an advanced sensor, there is a wide variety of games that are programmed for interaction with the tilt features on the remote. For example, in Mario Party 8, there is a game where you must shake the Wii Remote up and down to shake a soda can. In Mario Kart Wii, players are given ‘steering wheels’ which the remotes are placed into, that steer the kart. No more controller sticks for these controllers.

Also, there’s a neat feature called the remote cursor, which uses a Sensor bar placed above or below the TV.  Players can direct the cursor by moving the Wii remote in the direction they want, which allows for additional game play. These are the many new interactions with the Wii that makes it the most advanced gaming system yet!

In addition to game play, the Wii can connect to the internet and download updates.  To do this go to the Wii Shop Channel, where you can buy anything from old classic games to new channels. There is even a channel called the Internet Channel that you use to basically browse the internet. Any website that can be viewed from a computer can also be viewed from the Wii as well. Also, if you have a friend that has the same Wii game, you can connect to the internet and play against each other in a competition – you don’t even have to be in the same country as the other person! In my opinion, the Wii is the best system ever to come into the video game era.

I’ve had a Wii for quite a long time, and I really enjoy playing it. Games like Metroid Prime 3, Twilight Princess, and MADWORLD are really great games to play. I can’t wait for Modern Warfare: Reflex!

Having a Wii is best for first person shooters because of pointing at the screen. You can point at any part of the screen and turn by pointing to the edge of the screen.
As Todge said, many games for the wii are great, such as: The Conduit, No More Heroes, Tales of Symphonia, Twilight Princess, and Muramasa.
The Wii is the only system out of the three that isn’t warring with another, giving great results and a better variety of games.
