The numbers at Jefferson High School have definitely risen, not only in academics but also in the number of players playing football. Our team may not have a lot of victories but they have victories on the field and more importantly in the classroom. Way to go guys!!!

Head coach Francisco Lujan said, “We have improved in many ways this season. Consistently having a large number of players at practice has improved discipline in our program, we have finally created a core to build a foundation which we lacked in the past.”

There are four captains who are in charge of making sure players are eligible. Senior Captain Mikey Vigil describes, “Every Tuesday after school we break into groups, check grades, and do work that needs to be done.”

Senior captains, Fred Lopez, Nick Gallegos and Dustin Garcia agree. The football team may not be what you would call “Glorious”, but they are definitely winners no matter what. Besides football, what do these coaches hope to teach their players? Coach Trejo elaborates, “I want to show them how to succeed in life and never give up.” All coaches can also agree.  GO SAINTS!!
