If you have been in the hallways after school from 3:30 to 5:30p.m, you might have been caught in the stampede.  On  February 1, 2010 the Jefferson High School soccer girls practices started. “Practices are held in the school in the cafeteria or sometimes outside depending on the weather,” said junior Nidia Saucedo.

The coaches encourage athletes to do many exercises to improve their abilities for soccer team try outs scheduled February 17, 2010. “Mr. Flores is our main coach and Ms. Maes is our other coach,” explains senior Amanda Serrano.

We can see the girls soccer Saints doing many exercises around the school and showing us how they work hard. “We run laps, stretch, do sit-ups, push-ups, and even compete with each other,” adds Amanda.

There are many girls on the soccer team. “There are almost 40 girls or more, but only 36 are going to stay at the end,” explains junior Maria Solis. The team looks pretty good and the coach seems satisfied with the work the girls do. “We all get along, there hasn’t been any trouble, and we also work together,” adds Maria.

The girls seem to be working well with their coach. “Mr. Flores is cool, he helps us become better players when were doing something wrong,” said junior Shade Cinco.

The coaches, Mr. Flores and Ms. Maes, seem to be doing a really nice job with the soccer team. “They are really awesome and nice coaches, plus they are really doing a good job with the team,” adds sophomore Lili Resendez.
