I am overly caffeinated, yet tired
I wonder what I will be in 10 years
I hear Billy laughing; even though he has been gone for years
I see fireworks when I close my eyes
I want to walk barefoot in the sand
I am overly caffeinated, yet sleepy
I pretend that I am a ninja
I feel the sun on my face
I touch rain running down the window
I worry that my kids are unhappy
I cry when my friends are sad
I am overly caffeinated, yet weary
I understand how to play the game
I say what people want to hear
I dream of an uncomplicated life
I try to make a difference in my students’ lives
I hope to be remembered
I am overly caffeinated, yet exhausted
